N-Europe Turns 18

This week saw the 18th anniversary of Tim Symons and Gerben Stevast setting up N64-Europe.  What started as a site to express their passion for the soon-to-be-launched Nintendo 64 has gone on to cover four Nintendo home consoles and several handhelds.

During those years we've seen staff come and go, some onto amazing things within the industry which is always wonderful to see, and many of our fans have stayed with the site for many years - probably more than they'd like to admit as it reminds us we're not teenagers any more!

My own personal involvement with the site began 14 years ago this October.  That is just shy of half of my life and whenever I think about this, it always takes me by surprise.  Over the years my position with and visibility on the site has changed, but behind the scenes I've always tried to keep things going for our fans and Nintendo's.

I would like to take the opportunity to thank the wonderful staff we have worked alongside us.  They spend their personal time creating content for N-Europe and their passion is evident.  Without them this site would be nothing.  In recent months we've taken on some new staff members and this has helped to refresh and reinvigorate us all.  You'll soon start seeing their wonderful ideas appearing on the site and I can't wait for you all to see some of the stuff we've got planned!

Of course we'd be nowhere without you, the readers, who keep coming back and engaging with the site.  It truly means a lot to us that you have remained so dedicated to us over the years.  While we are always striving to get more fans, we of course would never forgot those of you who have been with us for a long time.  Both on the site and on the forum we've had people who have practically grown up alongside us and we hope this continues into the future.

So join us in celebrating the site's 18th.  At least it's nearly out of those awkward teen years!

Thank you one and all,
Ashley
