Ah the famous words. We've all heard them....heck most of us have probably used them.

Things like

"I don't mean to be funny, but"

and

"No offence..."

But whatever the next line is, you can guarentee that its a complete opposite to what they prepared you for.

"I dont mean to be funny, but Im going to be really funny"

Lozzles.

I fucking HATE it when people say that. Normally it's women. Fucking fucks me off.

"I don't mean to be funny but-"

"i don't mean to be rascist but..." :shakehead

That's my favourite one i've heard someone use..... It is a really annoying! It's like a get out clause for someone to offend you!

"I don't mean to be funny.."?

Who says that?

It's "I'm not being funny, but.."

Anyway. I don't mind it. Usually people use it just to make what they're trying to say or point out not sound as bad. Like if someone said "No offence, but i really don;t like your drawing", it's just them making it sound better, and that it's not you they dislike. It sounds better too.

That one fits in some situations, though - sort of to mean "people usually say this but political correctness is currently stupid so I have no idea if this has suddenly become unacceptable for no reason."

Worst of all is "you're a great guy but..."

Agreed.

That's because it MAY sound weird, you might actually welcome the sensation of a cock up your ass.

"I don't mean to be funny, but am I funny?"

Also the sentences:
We need to talk...
I don't want to sound nasty but...
Your a great guy and all...

Are the scariest sentences known to men.

I've had "We need to talk"
I've used "You're a great girl and all"

I've also used "It's not me, it's you" that was awesome.

Your a great guy and all...
But lets just be friends!

"It's not me, it's you" that was awesome.
Hahahahah!! Harsh but so funny! Why did you use that just out of interest? (if you don't mind me asking)

I agree, absolutely.

I fucking hate this phrase, and it needs to be banned. Almost everytime some stupid airhead uses it, they follow it up with something that IS them insinuating offence, or being "funny" as it were, criticising that person

Girl turned out to be a real wierdo, and i actually didn't like her as a person :|

One of the many i went out with, without getting to know them.

Actually, in the space of a week i was going out with her, she turned from.. regular girl into emo/goth.

You... you... you're cheating on me?

Best one ever happened a few years back:

"I don't mean to be weird, but my girlfriend just brought me some of her period in a jar."

The other one I hate is:

"It's only a game."

I now warn girlfriends in advance that saying that signals they wish to end the relationship.

That is the incorrect fluid to be put into a jar.

There was some kind of chemical imbalance in her brain that got worse during TTOTM. She had to be kept in the house during that week, for fear of incidents like that.
