So i went bowling yesterday with some friends (including oli1983uk) and they have just recently done up our alley, looks pretty good.
Anyway in the arcade area Oli spotted something:

(sorry for the bad picture quality)
We didnt get to play it as we got called for our lane and then we both had to leave early for work as we were both on Night shifts. Dammit! But we'll definitely be going back!!
Anyone else played Mario Kart Arcade ??

Chris and Adam faced off on the machine in the CHAKATRUCABOWA yesterday. It looked like a lot of fun. I was far too wet and tired at this point to digest what I was seeing.

Brilliant. I'll try and get down there in the next month or so for some games of bowling, then check the karting action out.
Cheers for the heads up. :bouncy:

Yes, I noticed the Mario Kart machine there last time I went. I didn't get chance to go on it. I saw some people playing though and it looked great fun.

Yes ive played it in London trocedero and that one definitely has memory card slots.
EDIT: oh yeah i forgot to mention that on Mario Kart arcade it has a camera so you can take a picture of your head and put it in the game and as its a triforce thing with namco you can also pick pac man to play as :)
I read on Teletext the other week that there's one of these in Southampton, although, completely unhelpfully, it didn't actually say where in Southampton it is. If anyone knows, I'd be grateful if you could let me know. :)

The Mario ones are probably more common simply because it's Mario.

Theres one here in Bradford. I was terrible though. I don't play on arcade racers too often, that's my excuse anyway:wink: . It does look good though. I would rather play F-Zero AX.
I didn't notice any memory card slots when I was there, although I wasn't really looking.

I played it and the game sucked, nothing like what I expected, the photo thing was a nice touch though.
EDIT: oh yeah it was at the Leisure Centre in Hemel Hempstead.

A Mario Kart Arcade just got installed in Leeds, Hollywood Bowl. Haven't had a go on it yet but it looked good. Is there any confirmation of these memory card slots, and what do they do?

I played it in Spain last year. Good fun with the camera although the controls were abit dodgy!

I played a HUGE one in Kuwait. You sit in a cockpit that actually moves with you as you turn. Jumps make the cockpit leap upward, while turns make you swing from side to side. It was fun.

I've played ones in London Trocadero and Bournemouth Sega Park.

I'll second that, it was pretty boring anyway. But to top it off you have to pay for each race!! What i chuffing rip off.
I thought i would get to grips on an easy track, came first then wanted me to pay more to do another race. The cheek.

I have yet to see one of these Mario Kart arcade thingies. Are they worth seeking out?

No, the handling is fucking ridiculous, the tracks are uninspiring, the weapons are rubbish, and it has Pac Man in it for goodness sake. Spend your money on a proper arcade game.

It's impossible to do anything but snake. You give the wheel the slightest of touches and you end up turning sharply and find yourself on the opposite side of the track  Repeat the process and you end up snaking around the whole course, though sadly without any benefits.

Well streering wheel games are always really sensitive. You have to get used to them usually :heh:

Got one in my town, it sucks.. hopefully we'l get number 2 though, only if it has an improved control system, because the current one is actually too sensitive, im fine with other games, but jesus christ..
Also, its a rip too, so those desperate to play it, I advise you dont.

I understand that, but have you actually played this game? It's so sensitive it's a joke.
