  1. Playstation 5 Console Discussion

Got my console on launch day and to put it simply, its been the best console experience I have ever had. Just using and navigating around is such a joy. Old underperforming games are given a new lease of life or just truly come alive under 60fps. Very excited to see where things go and very pleased with the dual sense, the new headset and almost everything to do with the ps5. Only gripes are the lack of vrr (for now), its size (its really obnoxious and stands out but acceptable if this design keeps it quiet) and that i don't have enough time to play. Glad everyone is having a good time with it. Sent from my SM-G988B using Tapatalk
  2. Sackboy: A Big Adventure (PS5)

This is local co-op. If you look at the psn listing, it states that online co-op expected late this year (even though 2020 is next to over) or early next year. Will buy when that's available.
  3. Nioh Collection (5th February 2021)

Who boy. I skipped on Nioh 2 as I hadn't fully recovered from Nioh 1 and had too much on at the time. Will definitely be interested in a 120fps version! Didnt see a mention of if you own the first game and if there is a free upgrade path though... Sent from my SM-G988B using Tapatalk

Missed this so sorry for the late reply. Trusted I would say are the usual like Samsung, Sony, LG etc (but those are the standouts imo) though they tend to specialise their tv's in certain tech to differentiate themselves e.g. if you want an OLED, you gotta go LG. One thing is that I would watch and read up on this stuff because there are so many competing technologies like LED, QLED and OLED but the information between them could lead you to think they are the same (QLED and OLED) when the gulf in benefits is considerable (LED/LCD and OLED). Personally, I go with OLED all the time. Once you have seen a proper one, you cannot go back.
  5. Playstation 5 Console Discussion

Whew, it's been a looooong time since I posted on these forums. Probably due to not gaming on the pc these days and sticking to PS4 and chatting to the people I see over there during destiny sessions. But exciting times are ahead and it's left me wondering about other's opinions like right now, what are most people's TV situation? Has anyone gone out of their way to get a new tv for next gen? I wasn't going to, but then my OLED has been struck down with BURN-IN sickness. It's slight but I can see the Destiny lifebars when I am watching youtube and it really bother's me. So coupled with a bit of self pity last week due to illness, I spent WAAAY too much money and bought one of LG's new 65 inch OLEDs that will support 120fps at 4k and the variable refresh rates tech. Has anyone else been 'forced' to do the same? Do you also have an inner voice telling you how much of a crazy fool you are? Or will the current TV suffice and there probably won't be much that actually achieves 60+ fps?
  6. Destiny 2

Ahem, 4 of us have been ready for a like year [emoji39] Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  7. Destiny 2

It's nice to see some are returning. Would be really great to get some raids going. There is so much that the ones who remained playing in the clan have missed out on because we could not stomach lfg but we didn't have the members and we didn't want to join some random clan. Really been wanting to show my girlfriend kirsty what the raiders experience is like Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  8. Nioh 2

Ah crap I missed out Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  9. Anthem (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Personally, I have stopped playing in wait for fixes and additional content. The niggling issues that annoy as you may become much more significant when you reach end game. Watching the live streams in hopes of communication on addressing of issues is disappointing as they due to cherry picking and the actual solutions sometimes being a band aid rather than a fix. I stand by what I said earlier about the gameplay though and even@Goafer has reiterated some of the stuff I said. But THE ARTICLE explains so much about the niggling issues that become major ones and the copious amount of bugs and issues that were fixed or avoided in destiny, division and diablo. Since division 2, I have been waiting to see what bioware are doing but its harder to see me going back Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
  10. Anthem (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

It's funny but as Ronnie said, the lack of flying monster is not something I noticed, mainly because it's not something I am looking for. Flying monstrosities are annoying as heck to fight in most games. But it's a valid point. To counter it, it's more of a tool for the player, the javelin, to use against the enemies. It's another dimension you can use to attack from and for one class, the Storm, it's imperative that you hover while in combat as you receive a bunch of bonuses for doing so. If you don't, you are actually playing that class wrong and will die very quickly. Other classes can hover and fly but not as long. Colossus, really is supposed to be on the ground being the tank, the bruiser of the team for example, but they can fly and jump just like the rest. But yeah, it's no Zone of the Enders in aerial combat for example. Would have to disagree with saying the game has pretty much nothing except flying but agree that the flying is the actual unique part of the experience. Mass effect 3 and Andromeda share the combat mechanics, just not on such a scale or scope as here. As for review bombing, it's obvious that the scores are not what was anticipated by EA or Bioware. Foolish really considering the issues and they way that they released it.
  11. Anthem (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

Totally get that and agree with all those points. I feel as though, that we have such a robust means of updating these games now that things can be expected to be improved as time goes on. Warframe is a good and bad example of this. It's constantly evolving and expanding but in the past, for a large group of people, it was a waste of time and severely lacking on initial release. For others, it was all these things but promising and because it was free (on entry, there is no way that you would progress without spending money back in the day) it was given time to grow and develop.
  12. Anthem (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

I can see where Ronnie is coming from. With Destiny 1, 2 Division etc. a lot of the talk here wasn't based on reviews but people's disappointment from actually playing it. There was a mix too with some people, like myself, professing the enjoyment and willing to wait for improvements. And like those games, this game will live or die dependent on player base retention. If everyone here is alienated without giving it a chance, or convinced against giving it a chance because others have done so, what are the chances of people coming back to play when the changes, improvements and general content updates have arrived. Considering that no one returned for Destiny 2, I would say very low. And it's sad because as I said before, the core gameplay is actually good. It is just surrounded by some poor design decisions which I do believe can be fixed or changed and Bioware have been very quick to respond in comments and updates unlike Bungie.
  13. Anthem (PS4, Xbox One, PC)

At work so I don't really have the time (or the will) to do a long write up but I have been playing on PS4 if that wasn't obvious and have completed the main story and have reached lvl 26/27 can't remember. Enjoyed what I have experienced but there were bugs along that journey. Everyone knows the issues so I wont go into them but I didn't experience anything that hampered my progress. Biggest one is missing out on a cut scene but I managed to see it when I repeated the mission with my girlfriend whom is also enjoying it. Moment to moment gameplay is awesome. It's the Mass effect 3 multiplayer, just massively expanded. Its a shame I could have this a few years ago but whatever. It's here now and because I enjoy the gameplay so much, the 'honeymoon' period for me is lasting a long while. I do remember a time when gameplay was king and forget everything else but expectations are so much higher now and a lot more is expected from companies like Bioware. The (somewhat valid) negativity surrounding the game is a bit of a bummer with the Origin Premier Access probably playing a major part. I think it was a pretty big mistake considering the issues still present in the game (which I am sure they must have known about prior to release to get such a quick turn around) with reviews probably being more favourable if the day 1 patch was taken into account for the entire duration of a reviewers game play. There is an element of disappointment in me though, with the expected heights for this game not being reached, but I don't feel as disappointed as I did with Destiny 2 or No Man's Sky. And seeing as I gave those a chance to improve, I will do the same for Anthem, I just hope EA will too.
  14. The Division 2

Ill definitely be giving it a try again but I hope the endgame isn't as crushing at it was in the last beta.
  15. Destiny 2

Hey man I'm ready to go now! Any and all raids I'm raring to go. Sent from my SM-G965F using Tapatalk
