  1. Dragon's Dogma 2

At the rate you complete them you could drop them on eBay for all your money back, haha.
  2. Dragon's Dogma 2

It sounds as though if you did want to just jump into DD2 you wouldn't be missing anything story wise, in case you did want to do that. But the first game is still extremely playable today.

Really happy this is reviewing well and sounds like it doesn't lose what made the first one so special.

But look at how well the PSVR2 did...they've discontinued production because units are piling up. They must surely realise that people aren't in the mood to be spending so much at this time. They need to get the sweet spot right where enough people will buy it.

Almost certainly the PS5 base model will be officially reduced in price soon, so I wouldn't go adding £100 onto the current RRP. The base model is already unofficially reduced - being sold for £389 just this/last week on Amazon and reduced at many other places too. I think the PS5 Pro will be £529 to £549 at most or thereabouts. Don't think they will go to £579 or £599 though, that would be just too much and put people off.

I thought a 45% boost is bigger than PS4 Pro was, no? I do think the PS4 Pro was much more necessary though, given how weak the base console was even at launch. I think it'll be interesting if all console rumours come true - i.e. the PS5 Pro and revised Xbox models. You'd have thought Xbox would release a Pro model too - I don't think it'll go down well if they're just launching discless models with no other upgrades.
  7. Balatro (PS, Xbox, Switch, Steam)

Yeah, that, and you can play it anywhere. I know you can take the Switch anywhere but I already take my mobile everywhere and the battery lasts much longer, so there's that.
  8. Balatro (PS, Xbox, Switch, Steam)

I'll be waiting for the mobile versions - seems like it will be the perfect fit.
  9. Resident Evil IX

If it didn't have a "dumbass" plot it wouldn't be Resident Evil.

Whether I get one would depend on whether they start a trade in initiative like they did with the PS4 Pro. As I recall it was something like £130 for a new PS4 Pro if you traded in your old PS4 but it came with a physical copy of FIFA which just released and I got £50 for it. Can't see them being that generous this time!

They're playing the long game with Bloodborne I reckon. I think it could be a PS6 launch game, like Demon's Souls was for PS5.
  12. Well there's a pretty big factor - not being left behind. Many people will pick up the Switch 2 and put their original Switch aside - they won't want to take two consoles out and about with them. I'm not saying it would be a straight re-release but imagine a situation where Nintendo take forward, say, Mario Kart 8 on the Switch 2 (with a name change), and release a ton of new tracks for it, and add a lick of paint. They wouldn't have put the effort into making a properly new game (as before), but the fact backwards compatibility isn't there makes it much easier for them to do this without just making this an upgrade/DLC. Whereas if Switch 2 could play Switch 1 games, many people would scratch that Mario Kart itch by just continuing to play 8 DX, and may well expect the new tracks to continue to come to it. Again, I do think Switch 2 will have BC, but there's clearly some advantages again should they choose not to include it. Most people buy Nintendo consoles for Nintendo games after all.
  13. I'll bet you that many of those who bought the Wii U games went and bought them again on Switch.
  14. I'm not talking about occasional £10 upgrades here, I'm talking about what Nintendo did over and over this gen - released Wii U games at full price on Switch. They could do that again if the next Switch isn't backwards compatible. I do think the next Switch will be backwards compatible for what it's worth but there's an incentive for them not to do it as well as do it. In fact not having backwards compatibility really helped Nintendo plug gaps in the Switch release calendar; if all Wii U games could have run on Switch from the outset I think we'd have seen more new games on the Switch.
  15. But think of all the extra money they'll get selling last gen's games back to you again with a lick of paint...
