What do you want?

See the poll. What should return? In what capacity?

We want to stay away from behemoth threads because they snowball conversations typically (and lead to ghost threads populated by Gengars) so while we're willing to bring back some threads we need your co-operation. As trivial as your day to day things may seem we all live trivial lives. If some of the bigger threads come back don't be afraid to make new threads! Otherwise we'll go go around in circles. All of this has happened before and it'll happen again.

Anyway, open to voting and any discussion.

In terms of when these things will happen again. Lets say...two weeks from tomorrow (19th), which will make two months since it happened.

The one that id like would be the rate films. Simply because I still dont believe that every movie I ever watch and would like to rate needs its own thread. I havent really gone into the Scott Pilgrim thread for example as I dont want to be spoilt or anything but I would like to have known what people thought of the movie.

As mentioned before, PYP and UIG but I can live without the others. I don't mind whether the funny images thread comes back but if it does it should be just that - a funny pictures/video thread. Flash games could easily warrant their own thread!

RATE THE LAST MOVIE YOU SAW!!! This NEEDS to have a comeback for sure! I used to live on that thread and I miss it, haha.

I don't. Purely because most people will just get lazy again and will solely post in that one thread.

We've got the IRC channel, so we should make use of that.

Hell, most people have each other added on MSN or twitter or facebook anyway. We already know how everyone's day has been.

The funny pictures/videos one is the only one I want back. We don't really need a new thread for every youtube video or picture someone finds funny, and people aren't making them for the most part anyway.

PYP and UIG please.

UIG's my priority, and despite me not using it really, possibly a side helping of PYP, I flicked through it sometimes to see some cool stuff, but it's also the sort of thing that can't always warrant its own thread. Videos, Pictures etc can be brought back into a specialised thread if it/ReZ gets out of hand posting 20 'funny' video threads a day.

Well I've already voted now so I can't vote for none. I went for Funny videos as that's what I'd like to see most out of those, but I'm happy as is.

I'd personally like to see the HWYD thread back, but as it seems it's not an option, I voted for UIG and PYP.

I'd like to see a verion of HWYD, possibly not the one that was originally there but something, something to talk about what you did or something exciting that happened, right now there really isn't anything like that. I find it odd without one when the other two forums I go on both have threads called randomness.

Well I considered that, but then I though that if a change was going to go ahead anyway then it may as well be the one that I prefer.

I like it with these big threads gone, far too easy to miss a day on the forum and then pages and pages of stuff have appeared that I just can't be bothered to read through.

I like it as it is, lots of smaller topics rather than a few really big ones. At a push I wouldn't mind too much if post your purchases came back though.

User Image Gallery, Post Your Purchases and Funny Pictures etc threads i think should return, for the following reasons

UIG should return because i believe it is a good way to show the forums your mugs (be it what-ever you decide to look like) without the need to travel (of which i personally recommend this). It was a good thread when it was open, of which i did contribute to it, not greatly but i did contribute.

PYP needs a return, because it had a way of reminding/suggesting to me items/products that i would/need to purchase. It would need some changes to stop it from turning into what it was becoming. For example, people to stop posting daily stuff like bread.

Funny Pics etc, well that just reaked of excellence.

I don't mind/care if the Rate threads don't return, they did have near no reason to be in existance.

For the love of God please don't bring HWYD back and smite all those who request it - there's finally some really exceptional discussion taking place on this forum and all HWYD would do is what Flinky (I think) said, make everyone lazy and post about the most trivial moments in their pathetic lives. I much prefer the individual threads, e.g. Caris made that thread about that accident he had - I didn't like the content obviously given that it wasn't a very nice incident, but it was lovely to see a thread where the focus was purely on him (and was very supportive) without having small interjections of people talking about how miserable they are or that they'd walked to Asda.

I'd be up for Post Your Purchases coming back - it lets me know who has bought stuff I might want and I can then ask them for an opinion if I want to know more.

UIG would be kinda cool too although I suppose individual threads would work.

Problem with UIG is that it will lead to another HWYD thread.

problem with post your purchases is you have an entire section at the bottom of the forum called Private Trades / Bargain Board.

the only one I miss is funny pictures/whatever.

also: Maybe consider merging some of your subforums. There is very little need for a seperate section for tech or import games.

Yeah, Import and High Scores seem a bit redundant these days. Tech is used though, and worth keeping.

I would probably go in the trade board more if it was like a sub forum in Gen, or even at the top of the main page rather than hidden at the bottom like it is.
