3DS Home Screen - Show your set up!

Recommended Posts

My 3DS has been battered with downloads recently - from VC games, to GB games, to digital downloads, demos etc!

I noticed my home screen was getting very cluttered, so had a little sort out! :)

I saw this elsewhere and thought I'd steal as it's pretty genius - and no clutter! : peace:

The folders are basically what they say they are.

Only the first folders have the relevant content - the others are purely there for decorative purposes. :heh:

It makes for a very tidy home screen though...!

It got me wondering - what does your home screen look like?! Are you a bit OCD with how it's displayed? Do you like to have things set out in an exact fashion?! Or do you not care at all?!

Post away if you wish!! :)

I order both of mine in a way...things I use the most first so like Pokémon stuff, new games I'm playing and so forth...then utilities I'll need, then Ambassador games

My English one is near identical, just with more download games and Virtual Console games

I didn't even know could change the home screen like that...and I use my 3DS a lot I would say, though I currently only have the original SD card so I guess it really hasn't been an option anyway.

- 3DS stuff.

- 3DS download games.

- DSiWare (I have loads more, but they won't load from an SD card)

- GBA

- NES

@Aneres11, what's that SD card icon next to the shop?

@Aneres11, what's that SD card icon next to the shop?

It's a tool to transfer your game saves from your game cartridge to your SD card.

Basically it just lets you keep a save from a cartridge on your SD so if you choose to buy it again or digitally download it, you have your previous save. Pretty cool!

Curse you @Aneres11 for stealing my thread idea!

@Serebii what do you use to get direct screenshots from your 3DS?

Anyhoo, here's mine, not as organised as everyone else's though:

IMG_20130510_223243.jpg

Foldors are:

R = Retail

D = DSiWare

G(1) = Gameboy

N = NES

G(2) = GBA

T = Trailers

D(2) = Demos

G(3) = GameGear

e = eShop (which is currently empty)

Retail games:

GB/GBC games:

(Anyone else see the red tint on my screen, or is it just me?)

I know the order to my chaos :D

Have it modded for screenshots for my site. Getting my English original 3DS done soon too

I don't use it enough to bother. They're nicely organised, anyway.

Here's my setup:

20130510_221656.jpg

From left to right:

  • R: Retail Downloads
  • N: NES
  • M: Misc.
  • A: GBA
  • S: Game Gear
  • D: Demos & DSiWare
  • C: 3D Classics
  • 3: 3DS Download Software
  • G: GB/GBC

My opinion on the rest. Serebii, yours is far too messy, Aneres is far too tidy, Ike... better than before and Cube probably has the nicest one to look at.

(Anyone else see the red tint on my screen, or is it just me?)

You can slightly notice it in the top right corner of the screen.

I need to get myself one of those capture kits eventually. They're pretty awesome!

Anywho, here's my boring setup...

All my system apps like Letterbox and 3DS Sound are kept on the main screen...

1 = DSiWare

2 = NES VC

3 = GB/GBC VC

4 = GBA VC

5 = 3DS Download Software (downloaded retail games are kept in there too)

6 = Demos

7 = Game Gear

8 = Downloaded Videos and the Health & Safety app

All my games are stored in the order in which I downloaded them. Speaking of which, my folder for 3DS Download Software is almost full, so I'm gonna need to make another one for that soon :)

Ike...

Really? I have more stuff on my homescreen than before. :laughing:

Here's my Japanese unit I guess, nothing too exciting and just cleaned it up from a few demos that aren't needed any more.

IMG_20130510_233120.jpg

F = Famicom

e = eShop

Famicom Fire Emblem games:

Haha, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt. What are those two Project X Zone icons for? Two different demo modes?

At the very top top left of the touch screen is a sun icon, that's for screen brightness. To the direct right of that is the square and 4 square buttons, those change your icon count on the touch screen. I recently found out that these work in the sub-folders as well.

Wow, I just assumed it was those two states possible, 1 row and 2 row!!

Nice. Kinda kooky to see someone keep folders for stuff and then not put 3DS stuff in them.

My one hasn't changed much, except that I now have the Youtube App on the main screen and I now have a second 3DS Downloads folder (yes, I actually managed to fill a whole folder full of downloaded 3DS games - I'm putting that 64GB SD Card to good use!)

So now the folders are numbered as such...

1 = DSiWare

2 = NES VC

3 = GB/GBC VC

4 = GBA VC

5 = 3DS Download Software (downloaded retail games are kept in there too)

6 = 3DS Download Software (downloaded retail games are kept in there too)

7 = Demos

8 = Game Gear

9 = Downloaded Videos and the Health & Safety app

God I need folders on Wii U already!

Just how many games do you have? :eek: I have 23 not counting the ambassador games... The reason why my purchased games aren't in folders is so that I don't forget about them and actually play them :D

I have to admit, I have been guilty of that recently :blush:

But I'm cracking down on that right now - which is partially why I haven't started A Link Between Worlds, Bravely Default or Super Mario 3D World yet...
