News: The Sims 2: Pets Confirmed for Wii!

EA's latest German release list reveals this game to be real.

We previously reported a rumour that The Sims 2: Pets might well be hitting the Wii in the near future, and we could barely hide our excitement. According to the German EA release list, the game will be hitting shelves on the 28th June 2007.

Although it's nice to see the gaming giant backing Nintendo, wouldn't it be nice if EA devoted their time to making some new quality games for the Wii, maybe even exclusives? Ports from previous generation consoles seem to be all the rage with developers now, which is unfortunate for those who want new games from EA.

This is somewhat off topic but has to do with EA being lazy.
EA has gone to hell. All they make are the same games over and over (like madden and FIFA) and just add new players or a new mini game. They wouldnt make as much money but one would think they could just use this gens online ablitys to update players and such instead of making us buy a new 50 or 60 dollar game every year. hopefully smaller companys like Ubisoft was a few years ago will take this opratunity to take over.

Yeh but Boggie and MySims are the only original games, made for the wii specifically, to be getting made by EA. Everything else is just ports or multi release games that they dont really care that much about as long as it sells well and probably will because idiots continue to go out and continue to buy the likes of FIFA and Tiger Woods. I dont mind Madden and NHL because these are actually fun to play.
Oh and I heard this elsewhere a few weeks back about it coming to Wii.

My Sims is a Wii exclusive (is it also for DS?). EA actually have two exclusive games to my knowledge planned for the Wii, but I would prefer more exclusives and decent games rather than ports, and I would love some Virtual Console games or new content from them.

To be fair to EA, their programming with the Wiimote up to this point has been really excellent, up there with Nintendo.

to be fair EA isnt and doesnt do much exclusives because there a 3rd party developer and do stuff equally! now u wouldnt like it if they put SOOOOO many exclusives on PS3 and not any other console so they cant do it for wii either or xbox 360!! there doing it all equally which is a good thing and u shouldnt be complaining!!!

I´ll be complaining as long as EA pumps out shoddy new edditions of their series EVERY year - and never really bothers to spend any time delivering quality products. I´ll be complaining as long as EA think they can buy franchise names like "lord of the rings", make a crap game out of it, and thinking it will sell well because of the franchise name. EA is a bunch of konservative an cynikal bastards, and until they prove me wrong - I´ll stay here complaining.
