News: Rayman's Rabbids Ready Their Return!

Posted by Dean Jones - May 18th 2007 10:20

WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!..

Rayman Raving Rabbids gets itself a sequel. The first consisted of loads of minigames, and Rayman Raving Rabbids 2 looks set to give us more of the same.

Ubisoft promises that the Rabbids will be given a more detailed background than last time, with a narrative all about their training for world domination (Set in their top-secret camp, situated under a shopping centre) that Rayman infiltrates. Obviously, this will entail many more minigames, and lots of shaking and pointing.

The graphics look more polished this time round, and details on new minigames are a bit scarce. We know that one has 4 Rabbids strapped to lab tables, with electricity-throwing cathodes above them. Cue lots of screaming when they get zapped. Another one involves some Rabbids in some theatre seats (naturally, they are wearing costumes like a Pirate, American Sport player, and one in bandages) talking on cellphones. Hopefully there will be some unique usages of the Wii Remote's Speaker here.

Not much else is known about Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, and no news of a release date. It will appear on both Wii and DS, though. More news as it comes.

"DAAAAAAAHHHH" and "WAAAAHHHH" are interchangeable.

Ah the rumour turned out to be true then. There was some weird thing that involved the Rabbids a few days ago and people specualted a sequal.

Wonder what it'll turn out like.

i wish they would give it a slightly better story

i don't really mind a mini game collection as long as its one of the well done ones (rayman, wario ware)

I'm not a rayman fan, so...absolutely no interest whatsoever.

If they decide to make a DS variant, I hope they put a bit more effort into it than they did with the first underwhelming offering. It had some half decent playable bits but the overall presentation was abysmal.

Note to Ubisoft : if you insist on porting the sequel into a platform-based format on the DS for lucrative purposes; at least try with the graphics as the DS is capable of producing much more aesthetically pleasing results.

The first game was fine but it was over too soon and they had so little in the way of simultaneous multiplayer. Great fun but a let down in the end.

I did get the first, and it was quite fun while it lasted, but once it was completed, i hardly went on it. Given that, I probably wont get the sequal unless it wows me with something new and exciting

The first one had some unforgivable bugs in it.

They will have to try a heck of a lot harder to make the sequal worth buying.

Basicaly a lot more substance, a lot more to do, and better multiplayer.

Good humour *is not enough on its own*

@Next_gen_clarissa

Yeah, it helps when you have friends to play it with. I doubt it's a good lone player experience.

I don't mind if it doesn't evolve past the minigame theme, as long as this time the controls don't suck, and give the Wii Remote a bad rep.
