And not just WiiConnect 24 functions...

The latest issue of Nintendo Power reveals some info on the latest Madden title, with regards to it's online functionality. The game's interweb mode will be far more fully fleshed than the '07 version, which merely allowed for weather in game to be affected by the Weather Channel.

Happily, gamers will be able to play others around the world, check their scores in an online leaderboard, and choose their opponents through an online lobby system! More as and when we get it...

Now hopefully Nintendo has released online details to developers now so they can add it to their games after such a long wait.

Hope the lobby turns out decent.Sounds like it could turn out well but I wish games would hurry up and get a VOIP function in them.

They didnt mention online play for the new Fifa on Wii. However considering that Madden has it, Fifa should too.

This, THIS, is what I was waiting for. Though 07 was effected by the weather channel? Anyway, hope this means local LAN games too.

WOOHOO! Ive been waiting to hear about an online Madden Game on a nintendo console and now we will get one. But whatever happened to Madden 07 on ds being online enabled. EA said they would make it online. Maybe this years DS one will finally receive it.
