The gap between Wii and PS3 is still FAR too narrow for my liking. Buy Wii JAPAN, not DS in isolation!

It's just like Nintendo to have the first and the last place simultaneously.

Look, a PS3 game in the top ten! And the PS3 has already surpassed... the PS2 in weekly sales! So I guess this is the beginning of the end for Nintendo...

Did anybody read on IGN about the total Nintendo domination in the U.S in July and the response from Sony and Microsoft? Considering how Sony likes to spins the numbers (everybody does it, but nobody beats Sony at the number spinning game!) I imagine what their response would be if the Gamecube was their console. Probably something like "We are very excited with the Japanese gaming Industry, and our platforms continue to drive growth in the industry. Gamecube, for example, saw a 900% increase in sales, while our competitors Wii and DS barely hit the 1% Mark."

Sol, really digging around for anything to say aren't you? It wasn't a run on sentence but as usual, it doesn't make much sense.

"holy crap, what's with the sudden revival in GC sales?"

Before long, it'll be overtaking the PS3.

It makes sense for the DS to sell around double of the Wii. Afterall, the DS is meant for every person to have one, whereas the Wii is more of a one-per-household kinda thing.

@ Pod.
It's nots just that, the Wii sales may be hindered by the fact that it is sold out everywhere. Of course, the same is true of the DS which is still sold out in Japan.
But let me tell people something about Japan.
1-Of course we know how small the homes are so a DS a good way of privately playing a game without taking away the household TV that parents or others might want to watch.
2-All the traveling = it's nice to have a portable device. People ride trains and buses everywhere... it's good to have something to pass the time.
3-Growing up, my friends came over to play games sometimes.. In Japan, I remember riding the bus, train, subway for almost 1.5 hours to get to school. My friend came by bullet train (1hour) and he lived in the opposite direction. We couldn't go to each other's homes to play games because we lived too far appart! So a portable like the DS with Wifi would be perfect... You could play it together before you both headed for home. Understand the culture, country, lifestyle, etc and you can understand how handhelds have always ended up dominating in Japan.
