We've got video of the opening scenes from Mario Galaxy inside. Spoilers ahoy!
One of the most anticipated titles of 2007 is drawing ever closer. This time around, Mario must take to the stars, but this opening footage shows the very beginning scenes of the game, when our portly plumber hero has his feet firmly on the ground.
But not for long, as a stroll through the picturesque village surrounding Princess Peach's castle soon turns into disaster, as Bowser, Magikoopa and a massive flying saucer appear and kidnap not only the Princess, but her entire castle as well.
The footage shows off some of the best graphics we've seen on the Wii to date. We simply cannot wait for this one...

Holy hell. Some of that looked like Ghost Recon: Mushroom Kingdom. Bowser's really pulled himself together.

The prologue is good and i've been saying all along this would be THE flagship title for Wii (at the time of its release). Nintendo just need to release a black Wii Super Mario Galaxy bundle alongside the actual game along with at least one minute of decent advertising this time round.
I'd really like to see this game sell fifteen million copies (surpassing sales of all individual GTA games released), achieve a 96% average ratio (at the absolute lowest) with 100+ editorial reviews and as a result, go down in gaming history as one of the greatest achievements in gaming in the modern era (surpassing Resident Evil 4)...

D_prOdigy lol was thinking the exact same thing. Solitanze really does come out with a heap a baws most of the time i read his comments.
I couldn't give a shit if thats in HD or not. That video was simply amazing. The fact that peaches castle is the same layout as the one from mario64 just made my day!
I've been deliberately avoiding a lot of things to do with mario galaxy but I had to see that vid and my god I just cannot wait now!

Holy hell, i tried to resist watching, but it just kept calling to me, tempting me, like a precious ring of power.
And after watching it, OMG, my heart is racing if that is just the opening to game and they can keep that up for the whole game, we are in for one hell of a treat... not to mention the graphics, WOW, I thought Metroid looked amazing but this is even WAY beyond that.
Hopefully this will also make the 3rd parties wake up and stop being so lazy with the graphics now that they can see what the Wii can do

hehe it seems that some people are too eager to make their game look better based on Galaxy that the marketing department even forgot to communicate with the programming one. Insomniac dared to state that Miyamoto was inspired by them. I mean if Yuji Naka did not state that about the circular levels in Sonic Adventure 2, then no one can. It is really funny though...misleading but funny :p

Id love to know why you go on and on about editorial reviews and 9 hundred billion% scores being ESSENTIAL, when all that really matters is sales.
E.g. FIFA. For the past however long it has been inferior to PES yet still gets more sales.On another note: Now that PES finally catches up slightly,EA makes a better FIFA game...
