Rumour: House Of The Dead 2 & 3 Coming To Wii?

Posted by Joćo Lopes - Nov 15th 2007 19:52

Is Wii going to get a remake of the classic shooters?

Gamefly has put up House of the Dead 2 & 3 in their list of games to be rented. They have a pretty good track record, so it might actually be true. With the release of Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles it would make sense that the Wii saw some more shooters that take advantage of the wiimote.

As usual, take these news with a grain of salt, but stay tuned, we'll let you know as soon as word is out.

These games are welcomed to the Wii library. They distract from the kiddie image....

Oh, there are also some rumors that there might be an Umbrella Chronicles 2 too, based on Leon and Claires games (RE2, CVX and RE4).

Though the rumors of a 3D remake of RE2 just don't go away...

Frankly I'm amazed this wasn't announced as soon as the wii hit the shelves. It's a no-brainer really: Wii does lightgun. Very well in fact.

This = Good idea. I suggested something along these lines in 2006... That as mentioned above will help somewhat to divert attention from the kiddie inferior perception...

Ok, for me that's really another reason to get a Wii. That and Super Mario Galaxy of course. After Sunshine I wasn't into Mario anymore, but everyone appears to be blown away by this game. Insane scores around the globe!

It would be great to get my hands on those two classic games but i wonder why the dont just add the original too and make it a trilogy... Maybe they dont think the graphics would look so hot but it would be good for completions sake.

Yep. Sega have confirmed this themselves.

Nice to see it coming though. Perhaps it will mean that House of the dead 4 will appear on the Wii at some point down the line. Never finished the 3rd one. Could never kill that silver thing at the end. Pain in the backside.

If only I hadn't already completely overkilled both these games in the arcade and PC ports.

Maybe if it's budget priced... i'd appreciate a graphics sprucing or some added content though.

Its looking good thus far, i still play HOD2 on my japanese dreamcast now and then so it will be great to play that and the third one which i only played a little in the arcade.

There are quite a lot of lightgun games that would be great on the wii, a virtual cop collection (including part 3), Confidential Mission, Time Crisis (i know its unlikely)and my personal fav Vampire Night! I personally wouldnt mind seeing some budget releases of these or collected volume games.

Jurassic Park was a great arcade lightgun game too! But seeing how it was Arcade only (and came in a nifty cabin) I won't hold much hope.
