Japan get the Everyone's Nintendo Channel, step inside to find out the scoop

Wii owners in Japan today woke up to the surprise introduction of the latest Wii Channel; Everyone's Nintendo Channel. The channel is the recently announced and long rumoured DS Demo Channel, that allows people to watch a description of upcoming Wii, DS and VC games as well as providing the commercial and a trailer. The user can also rate a game from bad to good and say if it's too easy, too hard or just right.

Some of the available DS demos right now are Brain Training 2, Flash Focus, Tamagochi 3, an E-book from Nintendo and a patch for Pokémon Diamond/Pearl (possibly for the bug the Japanese version of the game has). Also there is an interview with Shigeru Miyamoto, Wii trailers and other gameplay footage.

Wii owners across the rest of the world can only hope that this surprise release is followed up with a worldwide release. For now check the video out, courtesy of Chris Kohler from Wired:

Hopefully we'll see the DS demo channel hit Europe soon - it's a fantastic idea and something which the Wii is absolutley perfect for!

Here's hoping for some decent demo's!!

Does anyone know how these DS demos work? Are you just playing them on your Wii with the Wii-mote and nunchuck, or?

Only trailers? Aw. I was hoping for true demos.

"DS Demo Channel, that also allows users to watch game trailers"

Can you play also as well as watching? If not, its only .5 of what the channel really should be. Playable demos is a must courtesy of DS <--> Wii linkup...

Regardless of this severe potential limitation, this channel MUST see worldwide release...

That is actually a pretty sweet-lookin piece of sofware, but why do I have a sinking suspicion that the European version is likely to be less... endowed?

Yeah, we're still waiting for those regular puzzle packs on Picross DS NOE...

And about the Diamond and Pearl thing, are you sure that's not a Pokétch application? Some of them are only available through Nintendo events.

I'm not sure about the Pokémon patch, I just updated according to what I read. I suppose that anything that's available for PKMN games in the demo stations is or will be in this channel.

Yeah, I just wasn't sure if you could patch DS games.

Yes it's possible, demo stations in Japan have a patch available for PKMN D/P because of a bug the Jap version had. Remember that DS games are stored in cartridges which allow writing, not just reading unlike CD/DVDs :P
