News: Pokémon Platinum Revealed For DS

The third DS generation Pokémon title is revealed. New Pokémon forms, and possible release date inside...

Top Pokémon site Serebii.net is reporting that Japanese magazine CoroCoro have the scoop on this generation's third Pokémon title. The Pokémon Yellow to this generation's Diamond and Pearl, it will be entitled Pokémon Platinum.

Confirmed so far is that it will feature new forms of currently existing Pokémon, including Giratina (which will almost certainly feature on the title's box), and apparently Regigigas and Shaymin. The title will also likely feature a new battle interface.

It's also rumoured that the Underground section of the world will now be Wi-Fi enabled, and that there will be a new Battle Island, similar to the Battle Frontier of previous titles. The game has an anticipated release date of this Autumn in Japan.

Hmmm...I was hoping it would feature Arceus. It's not like Giratina was very hard to get in the other two games...I don't see why it should be featured. Oh well, I'll get the game anyway, and I'm excited! Pokemon fans unite!

You can already get Giratina, you dunce. :p Shaymin and Regigigas interest me however. Who am I kidding? I was going to buy it anyway.

Yay! I'm hoping this will reveal some Giratina's part in the Creation. Wow that scan looks awesome. And a new battle interface? That'd be sweet!

But I can't help wondering about when Darkrai is coming to Europe...

^ you can already get Darkrai from a japanese person, if you happen to befriend one. When I had Diamond, I had a japanese friend send me his Darkrai. Was cool to have it but I never used it.

Well, if I have a Japanese Diamond, an American Pearl, I guess I'll have a European Platinum....

....but what I REALLY wanted was a Gold / Silver / Crystal remake! :'(

Game =/= Box. Although I do need to say that the two games do have their differences, such as which Pokémon are available, and the third game of the generation is always changed a fair bit, so expect some new surprises in Platinum.

Rebob, the idea is that you buy one and one of your friends buys the other, then you trade Pokemon and shit. Although I suppose if you've got no friends you have to buy both.

Also I'm stuck on Pearl :( I cant get the 5th gym leader, of course I haven't played it in a few months so oh well! :D This game doesn't seem worth €45 seeing as I have pearl. Ill just buy a nice jumper instead! :D

I cant help but feel that the people who didnt buy the first two pokemon games of every genre get rewarded with a better game only a few months later...sort of wrong isnt it?

All you people that want to buy the game to catch Regigigas do realise that you can catch it on D/P don't you?? It's rubbish anyway, just a bigger, normal version of the other Regis.

You gotta get the game for the extra features and extended story. It's just like Emerald - that was the same as R/S but with added bits and a more interesting story.
