Players are in for a treat if they boot up the old Nintendo Channel, as a demo for the DS life-sim/RPG adventure Spore Creatures goes live...

Earlier this week, we brought you the trailer, but now you'll have the chance to go on further, and actually get a sneaky snippet of gameplay as from today, you'll be able to grab the Spore Creatures demo from the European Nintendo Channel.

In the game (on shelves today), you'll be tasked with designing your very own race of monsters from scratch, after which you can muck about at your will with them in an RPG-like adventure. It may be a stripped down version of its PC counterpart, but at least you won't have to spend the best part of your bank account on suitably equipping your PC.

As long as you have your Wii connected to the interweb and the Nintendo Channel installed, you can download the demo onto your DS by accessing the Channel at any time. If you've already played the demo of Spore Creatures, let us know what you think below...

A demo of this is a VERY good idea. Regardless of whether or not it's "your thing", it's definitely worth a try. I'll put my thoughts here a little later.

Well I've tried the demo and all it's succeeded in doing is put me off buying the game. All it allows you to do is make your creature. You can then walk around a very tiny island. And that's it! You can't do anything on the island (not that I could find) other than bump into trees and bushes which don't give you anything. I really don't see the point in releasing such a limited demo.
