News: Nintendo Europe Autumn/Winter Releases

Posted by Tom Phillips - Sep 25th 2008 17:47

It's the big one! Nintendo of Europe announces Animal Crossing for December, Wii Music for November, plus hundreds of other dates...

Nintendo have announced a November 14th date for Wii Music, but consign the annoyingly now retitled for Europe Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City (the same name as it will be released as in Australia) to merely a vague "December" date. It has been re-confirmed however that it will come with the Wii Speak peripheral boxed in.

Here's the full, enormous list - we've bolded the ones we think you'll be most interested in.

All those hundreds of games, and only three that I'm even remotely interested in. One of those being 'What's Cooking? With Jamie Oliver', of course.

Having actually read through the list now, there's TONS of games that I'd like! Some include:

Sonic Chronicles (out tomorrow???? Maybe I should get it tomorrow ... :p )
Phoenix Wright 3 (out in a week!)
Professor Layton
Pokemon Ranger: SoA
Sonic Unleashed (if it gets good reviews...)
Samba de Amigo (same as Unleashed)
Raving Rabbids
(Possibly) Shaun White

And the obligatory Wii Straps!

*cries* I'm not looking forward to the incredible amount of debt! That could potentially be about €400 in games!

Not one game that's a must have - not one! What a terrible place for the Wii to be in when it's doing so well.

My answer to this is a new XBox 360 appearing in my living room this week. I played Halo 3 and remembered what it was like to play real, high quality games. I still love the potential of Wii, I just hope the situation gets turned around quickly.

Conduit and a minority of third party games have a lot to deliver.

*Snore* Is it a new law that everyone that buys a 360 has to post it in a Nintendo Forum?
Like as if we give a shit, i had to laugh my ass off though, Halo 3 = High Quality, in the words of Buddy Holly 'That'll be the day'

"But where's Pokémon Platinum? :("

Spring 2009 in the US, Summer 2009 in Europe. It's only just been released in Japan, there was no way it'd EVER be ready for Europe within three months. Ever, ever, ever.

I don't understand why everyone is going "ANIMAL CROSSING NO BIG GAME"

Big game =/= good game. Get a 360 and buy every "good game" on there, you'll find more crap games than you will in all the non-Nintendo games on the Wii.

I'll be getting loads on the Wii this Christmas, I hope I have enough time/cash to play them all!

But look at that list, I wonder how many of these are gonna completely tank, a fair few I think. I know how busy the holidays are and how much people spend, but please how about a little common sense publishers, don't send your games out to die!

Only thing on that list I want is Guitar Hero World Tour, and I will soooo not wait for Nintendo to pull thier head out of their ***** and give us the game at the same time that US gets it, so I will put my trust into a company that doesn't screw their fans, and buy it on 360 (Well, i also have all the instuments to Rock Band, so it will be cheaper)

It's all well and good saying 'get a 360', but when you look at it a bit more closely, that's full of depressing shite as well.

Gaming is dead.

There's Castlevania - Order of Ecclesia for DS. For Portrait of Ruin, it was pushed for Spring 2007 in Europe. Thank God we'll get it for November. It's a must for me.

I just looked at both lists and I can't say there was a single game on there that interested me... Animal Crossing maybe, but other than that? =/

My Horse and Me 2 and Horse Life 2??? How could anyone decide between the two? It would be like Sophie's choice.

Nintendo have gone mainstream/even more kiddie, thats whats going on. Not one must buy on that list unless your young I reckon. When are Nintendo gonna pull their finger out their ass and make a decent new game franchise? I'm bored of Mario and Zelda. The last good ones were on the N64 anyway. Roll on Gears 2.

They arent even bothering with the Virtual Console anymore, that is whats annoying me most. All the best games were released in 2007. Wheres my goddamn Axelay and Dracula X!?

"No Pikmin?!?!?!?!"

Please tell me that was sarcasm. You can't POSSIBLY expect Pikmin 3 for at least another year; it's only just been confirmed to exist.

I'm gonna have to echo alot of sentiments expressed in these comments.
Nothing there jumps at me. Castlevania for DS maybe, and a very tiny chance at AC but I'm taking it with a pinch of salt(the others were good, but i got roped in and convinced to buy and as good as they were they weren't quite enough for me, it gets repetative fast, not worth a full retail price tag). So yeah, nothing for me really, maybe I'll see the reaction to WarioWare, but the irony is I'm going to echo another sentiment expressed.
The 360. I got one last week, admittedly as oppurtunity presented but I was going to get one next month for Fable anyway. I'm not entirely experienced enough with the 360 to pass judgement on its back catalogue, but I'd say any gamers waiting for something should consider a 360 and its back catalogue to tide them over until anything proper decent comes out for the Wii...should that ever occur again in the near future.
