Rumour: First 'Tales of...' Wii Image?

Posted by Stephen Thomson - Oct 2nd 2008 22:11

Has a leaked image of the next Tales entry been revealed?

The "Tales of..." series is ever growing, making an appearance on the GameCube with Tales of Symphonia (possibly the best RPG on the system), and the Wii with the spin-off sequel, Tales of Symphonia: Dawn of the New World. It has been apparently confirmed by Nintendo during their Autumn conference earlier today that the next "mothership" (main title rather than spin-off) Tales game will be heading to the Wii.

Good news for RPG fans, especially with some perceiving a lack of the titles in the genre thus far. Indeed, an image has been floating around the internet, showing a possible leaked image of the new title.

Real or fake?

Could this be the first image of the upcoming title, or just a hoax? Or perhaps even from a different game altogether? Stay with us for more news.

still waiting for Dawn of the New World here (don't anybody type a spoiler or i will find you), but knowing another one is just round the corner, AWESOME,

Character doesn't look familiar, what I would like, dispite my very much looking forward to DotNW, since that is discribed as more or a "spin-off" than a "sequel", here's hoping for a true sequel then....hey I can dream can't i.

hell i'd be happy if even just Lloyd and Sheena were the only 2 returning characters (for obvious reasons)

The white suit, white bell bottoms, white shoes, and flaming trail projecting from his feet are a dead give away. Tails of Symphonia: Dawn of a New World is a Disco themed DDR game for the Wii.

now, a dance off style rpg would get me interested in the genre again. although it might be a bit knackering....

I don't know, looks like a character from Smash Bros. maybe it's a new downloadable character for that game?

I agree with IGN on this one... Baten Kaitos > Tales Of Symphonia.

Well I loved Baten Kaitos, Tales of Symphonia, Skies of Arcadia and Fire Emblem to death in their own respects....they all gave me many hours of fun playtime (although sometimes annoying deaths, hahaha)

ToS had great humour and lots of solid puzzles...something lacking from most RPGs.

I cant stand fight/level/fight/repeat style rpgs.

Guess thats why ToS < Paper Mario 2 for me.
Because while both had good humour and puzzles. PM2 had more.
To me and RPG-ness of rpg is more something to add to other gameplay then gameplay in itself. Leveling and developing a charecter = great. But it dosnt make game in itself, even with a nice story.
