News: No Crossing/Wii Speak Bundle In Scandinavia

Posted by Nathan Whincup - Nov 29th 2008 18:57

Unfortunately, our fellow Norwegian gamers won't be able to buy Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City and Wii Speak in a cheaper bundle.

With just under a week to go until Nintendo unleash the Wii version of Animal Crossing in Europe, the last thing you'll want to hear is that you'll have to pay more if you want to get the highly-touted voice chat peripheral, Wii Speak, alongside it.

Unfortunately, that is exactly the case for gamers living in the Scandinavian regions Norway, Denmark and Sweden, who may be saddened to hear that the bundle won't be seeing a release in that region. You'll still be able to buy the game and microphone separately, it'll just cost a little extra.

Animal Crossing: Let's Go To The City, Wii Speak and the downloadable Wii Speak Channel will all be released next Friday in Europe.

Well, that's the final nail in the coffin for this game for me.

Oh noes...

Maybe if Nintendo updated so Smash Bros. and such were compatible then Wii Speak would be worth having...

Who cares AC:LGTC is just the exact same game as the other ones. Nintendo must think we're all pretty dumb to spend our hard earned cash on this game just because it has Animal Crossing smeared on it and Reggie said it was hardcore.

Oh, wait.

....Well I for one won't be buying this port.

But why...? Nintendo has always had a hard time in Scandinavia because of Bergsala, who doesn't really want to sell their products it may seem - advertisements have always been at a minimum. Heck, a couple of years ago I was very surprised to see a DS-ad on a train station.

This is just another stupid move.

Not that I care, I would never buy this game anyway.

Well, it seems there's still some good things about the fact that Amo takes care of Nintendo distributing in Finland. I actually think Amo gives more attention to Nintendo-stuff than Bergsala, our former distributor did. Amo even advertises a little.

They could just buy the UK version. ;)

I pre-ordered an UK version myself (I'm from Italy), but for different reasons (I would like to have the English booklet since I don't like how they translate characters' names in Italian).
