A port of the PS2 Strategy RPG Phantom Brave is making its way to the Wii. Check out some screenshots!

Nippon Ichi had announced they were working on a Wii project, but nothing about it was known. A couple of days ago, Famitsu revealed the project to the world: Phantom Brave Wii, a port of the PS2 Strategy RPG.

The scan from Famitsu.

Siliconera confirmed that the game is indeed a port of the PS2 version and noticed that the Famitsu scan shows that a new character is coming to the Wii version. They speculate that it could be Plenair, which would make sense, considering the image and that it's a recurring character in Nippon Ichi S-RPGs like Disagea.

The game is scheduled for release in Japan in March 2009, but there's no word on a western release yet, although considering the PS2 original was released in Europe and America too, chances Phantom Brave Wii will reach our shores aren't bad.

Meanwhile check out the latest screens of the game and the Japanese website and we'll keep you posted on any news about the game, namely what's different about the Wii version.

This is the sort of thing the PS2 was flooded with, that just never made it to the GameCube. Nice to see something like this showing up on the Wii, even if it is a port. :)

You can never have too many rpgs, if the Wii starts to get all the games that would normally have appeared on PS2 then we will finally have the flood of games we have been waiting for.
