News: Metroid Prime Trilogy Dated In Europe

Posted by Aaron Clegg - Jul 9th 2009 19:20

Retro's masterpiece collection is heading for Europe this Autumn...

In the current climate of Nintendo's odd decisions to refuse to release certain titles worldwide, it's nice to get a confirmation once in a while that a quality game is actually coming out in Europe. Best make that three quality games though, as Metroid Prime: Trilogy has been penned down for a September 4th release.

Already played all three? But the packing is so sexy... go on... you know you want to.

Trilogy sees all three of Retro Studios' fabulous Metroid Prime games release one one single Wii disc, with the added bonus of some post-production touching-up of the two Gamecube titles. Prime and Echoes now feature true widescreen, progressive scan and bloom lighting, as well as the sublime IR controls we all loved in Corruption.

Will you be picking up Trilogy this Fall? Be sure to sound off below...

I really don't know why Nintendo don't release some games over here in Europe. They don't release them and don't even explain why. Thanks to Wii update 3.3E you can't even import games that won't normally appear over here either.

I already have these games (MP) and have enjoyed them but have no need to buy them again with minimal extras (but the original Metroid game removed as you needed the GBA link) included.

Release Project Zero (Fatal Frame) IV and I'll be happy!

This was announced at least a month ago, it's only now NOE is posting it on the website. Still, good news, definite purchase for me.

No, it was announced that it would be released in the UK and Europe on September 4, and that was shortly after E3 - I should know, I reported it. Nintendo Europe snuck out a post-E3 release schedule on their website and Metroid Prime Trilogy was on there. It just wasn't posted on the actual website, just in a PDF they uploaded and linked to.

I own all three games, but dammit if this isn't a tempting offer, and releasing the day before my birthday.

Hopefully that's an all PAL release date. I look forward to playing the two GameCube (or from this article, "Gamevube") games again.

Also, my birthday is September 6th, so this is good :)

Remember sometimes europe gets stuff that america gets much later, or not at all.
Another Code for one excellent example.

@Darkflame>

Europe and Australasia are the poor relations in the video gaming world.

@Ghost. Ok douchbag. Your right, there may not be that many great titles for u.

but ur PS3 line up isnt really a PS3 line up

NOW WHEN YOU LOOK AT PS3.
1 METAL GEAR SOLID 4 10/10
9. RESISTANCE 2 9/10
8. LITTLE BIG PLANET 9/10

2. RESIDENT EVIL 5 9/10 - PS3/360/PC
3. CALL OF DUTY MODERN WARFARE 9/10 PS3/360/PC
4. BIOSHOCK 9/10 360/PC
5. CALL OF DUTY WORLD AT WAR 8/10 PS3/360/PC/Wii (ok wii version is shit)
6. FALLOUT 3 9/10 PS3/360/PC
7. STREET FIGHTER 4 9/10 PS3/360/PC
10. GTA 4 9/10 360/PC

So u have 3 PS3 Exclusives in that list...

Although i personally prefer a ps3 over a 360, the DLC is more commonly found on a 360. Whilst if im going for graphics i'd buy ALL of those games on a PC.

The PS3 is not the ultimate games machine... it has more flaws than perks.

Quit ur whining & plug in a cube controller.

come one!! he even triple posted... Btw i kinda agree with that. Im currently finding myself playing an awful lot of ps3 games rather than wii... Just replayed Fire Emblem Path of Radiance cause i loved it!! But i usually play MSG4, Soul Calibur 4 and Infamous most of the time... I just wish my Wii was HD so i would enjoy the graphics more on my HD TV... Anw... Still waiting for Conduit to arrive from Play.com with my speakers and hoping that Tales of Symphonia 2 comes out here...

"Europe and Australasia are the poor relations in the video gaming world."

No, this is only a grass-is-greener effect.

Sure, we get late release's sometimes.
But we more often then not get a load of adventure games and other less popular genres that America dosnt get at all.

Id much rather have Metroid a few months later rather then being someone in the US which dosnt get Another Code at all. (or, if they do, its not even scheduled there yet).

Ghost hasn't been banned but it would appear that he's been 'censored' for now... :P

Back on topic! I've played through the original Metroid Prime many times but I still can't wait to play through it again with the revamped controls.
