Electronic Arts shuts down California-based subsidary, axing 200 jobs...

EA today announced that as part of cost-cutting measures, Pandemic Studios will be closed with immediate effect.

The super-publisher acquired Pandemic Studios at the start of 2008, alongside fellow US developer BioWare. Pandemic have been responsible for recent hits such as Destroy All Humans, Mercenaries and the Star Wars: Battlefront games.

Some core Pandemic staff will be relocated to EA LA, but the move leaves around 200 employees out of work.

LOL, you can't honestly think industry cares for people. People need a job to pay of debt mostly, but industry wants to make a profit so they have the upper hand.
