News: Super Mario Kart Heading To VC

A trio of Nintendo classics are on their way to the Virtual Console in the next few weeks - find out which inside...

The original (and some still consider, the best) Mario Kart in the series, Super Mario Kart is heading to the Wii's downloadable Virtual Console service next Friday, for a bargain 800 Points. The title was originally launched in 1993 and was one of the top-selling games on the SNES.

After no Virtual Console releases at all this week, it seems Nintendo are gearing up for Chrimbo with a few other classic first-party titles on the way to North America.

December will see both Pilotwings from the SNES and the original N64 Super Smash Bros. finally hit the downloadable service Stateside. Perfect for any Points that Santa leaves in your stocking!

While I didn't like it all that much, I still look forward to play SMK again.

However, Smash Bros and Pilotwings are already available for months now.

Super Smash Bros and Pilotwings have been available to European and Japanese gamers, but not to US ones. They only just getting them now.

Super Mario Kart may be out THIS Friday here in Europe if Wikipedia can be trusted in this instance
