News: Silent Hill's Yamaoka Teams Up With Suda

Revered Silent Hill composer and producer Akira Yamaoka joins forces with Suda 51 for his upcoming horror title...

Veteran horror fans will no doubt be familiar with Akira Yamaoka. The Japanese composer is most notable for his revered work scoring the Silent Hill series. Since he left Konami in December, we were left wondering where Akira would head next.

Now, it's been confirmed that Yamaoka has joined forces with No More Heroes visionary Goichi Suda and Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami. Suda and Mikami confirmed as far back as 2008 that they were collaborating on a high-budget horror title for Wii, PS3, Xbox 360 and PC, and set to be published by EA.

The game remains shrouded in mystery, but with Suda, Mikami and now Yamaoka working towards the same goal, it's needless to say we may end up getting something truly special on our hands.

Fingers crossed the game gets a full unveiling at this year's E3.

Are we sure this is coming to Wii? I heard about the horror thing way back but always assumed they still had to announce platformers

I just got Killer7 (another Mikami + Suda51 game) in yesterday, btw! What a gem. I now have all "Capcom5" (all 4 of them, unless you count VJ2 or something).

Really liking Killer7 so far.

VJ2 was never part of the Capcom 5, the fifth one was Dead Phoenix which Capcom canceled, either way Killer 7 is some fucked up shit...enjoy!

Aware of that, just think it's rather silly to refer to 4 games as the Capcom 5. In any case I've also ordered Viewtiful Joe 2, hurray.

Hamsterpig, so did I, and hopefully, working with these two gentlemen, Suda isn't up to the shinanigans of No More Heroes, but doing something truly creepy.
