Brand new Pokémon for the new generation of Pokémon titles!

We've already reported that a brand new generation of Pokémon games, with yet more new monsters to catch and battle, are being prepped for unveiling imminently. Breaking tradition, Nintendo President Satoru Iwata has confirmed the games will still be released on the DS, the same platform as the current generation of Pokémon titles.

The world will get its first official look at some of the new fifth generation critters on February 21st, as Japanese weekly TV show Pokemon Sunday will reveal the mysterious silhouette below. We'll also be keeping an eye on the next CoroCoro magazine (out on the 15th) which the picture below claims may reveal all first.

The silhouette in question belongs to the mysterious fifth-generation Pokémon code-named "Z", star of the upcoming thirteenth Pokémon movie: "The Ruler of Illusion: Z".

Update 10/02: Two new Pokémon have been fully revealed by early leaked scans of the above mentioned CoroCoro magazine, which has itself confirmed the leaks are genuine. Welcome your first new Pokémon in several years below:

The critters above are Zorua and its evolution Zoroark, both Dark type Pokémon with the classifications of "Evil Fox Pokémon" and "Monster Fox Pokémon" respectively. The two will be starring in the next Pokémon movie, out this year in Japan, now confirmed as being titled: "The Ruler of Illusion: Zoroark".

More on the new Pokémon titles as it breaks!

I don't care what anyone says; Mewtwo simply obliterates all legendaries if he had the chance.

Just my thoughts on the matter :P

Don't forget that an overdosis of pie damages one's credibility.

Legendaries are everywhere now... Remember the time when there were only 5 legendaries out of 150? That was 14 years, 15 titles and 330 pokemon species ago!

It kinda looks like it'll be an evolution of Lucario or something, doesn't it?

I agree with Fused, Mewtwo is the ultimate Legendary, I mean come on he was even banned in the official competions Nintendo held back during the first generation because he was so awesome. No other legendary comes close.

So long as they make original, yet basic Pokemon then I'm all for the new ones.
Last Gen there were FAR too many stupid new evolutions for the old Pokemon which looked liked they were cobbled together by a child. And before that there were too many copies - Snakes, Moths, Butterflies, Caterpillars ....

It looks like an evolution of the sky form of Shaymin, to me. °_°

Excellent. It is another fox, but pretty cool nonetheless.

I have a problem with the names though.
How on earth does one pronounce it....

ZORO- ARK
ZO- ROARK

ZOROAR- K :P

Mokong... he was the ONLY good legendary then.

Impartially sepaking, he's a fantastic sweeper, but except for his Sp. Attack, he pretty weak, for a legendary. The "best" statistically would be Arceus.

But as far as awesomeness goes, yeah, he's right up there (second only to Lugia, as far as I'm concerned).
