News: Galaxy 2, Other M, Sin & Punishment Dated

Nintendo of America's media summit brings a US release date for these three big titles!

Currently the Nintendo of America media summit is underway and with it brings release dates. Super Mario Galaxy 2 is now set for an American release on May 23rd, far sooner than expected. Along with this release date, the summit showed off a demonstration of the title as well as a brand new trailer to whet our appetites.

Sin and Punishment 2 is scheduled to be released on June 7th, just shortly after Super Mario Galaxy 2. There is also a new subtitle for the game labeled: 'Star Successor'.

Metroid: Other M has now been given a release date. If Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Sin and Punishment 2: Star Succesor wasn't enough to keep you busy, Metroid: Other M is set to release on June 27 and upon completion we will "feel like you know Samus in a way you've never known her before".

good news indeed. now i'll be able to understand what the hell is going on in sin and punishment.

i'm not normally one to correct peoples writing, but its "whet" your appetite, not "wet". so many people write it, but it makes no sense!!!

So, a mid-year release for three of Nintendo's heavy hitters, huh...

Possibly leaving the last 2 or 3 months of the year open for the next Zelda title ???

Very bad decision to release Sin & Punishment in June. The game will be completely overlooked by 99% of consumers in favor of Super Mario Galaxy 2 and Metroid: Other M and hence the games sales performance will be severly compromised as a result.

While SMG2 will be this years greatest game and will be better than Zelda Wii, I just don't see it equalling the critical acclaim from users and editorial gamers that its predecessor received or having a chance surpassing what is widely regarded as the greatest game this generation in Uncharted 2. I really hope theres enough to give it a good crack though. The lack of new musical compositions in the latest trailer is concerning though, possibly hinting at recycled music and backdrops featuring prominently in the game...
