News: Doctor Who Accessories Announced

Blue Ocean Accessories are working with the BBC to release a set of Doctor Who themed accessories for the Wii and DS later this year.

To coincide with the release of the newly announced Doctor Who titles for the Wii and DS Blue Ocean Accessories are working on some Doctor Who themed Wii and DS accessories.

While no pricing information has currently been announced for any of the accessories they are expected to be released alongside the Wii and DS games, which are due out on October 29th. The Wii shall receive a special Sonic Screwdriver stylised Wii Remote, as can be seen in the image below.

There will also be a number of accessories released for the DS later this year. Gamers will be able to pick up slipcases with either The Doctor or Amy Pond on as well as a Sonic Screwdriver stylus.

More accessories are expected to be released in time for Christmas but details have yet to be revealed as they will be retailer-exclusive. However, it is a safe bet to say that this Christmas Doctor Who enthusiasts will be able to pick up a whole range of branded merchandise.

“We’re excited to be partnering with the BBC Worldwide on what we believe will be a great seller this Christmas and an excellent addition to our portfolio of licensed video game accessories,” says Blue Ocean Accessories’ new media manager Ben Jones. “We are confident that these products will appeal to both casual gamers and the huge fan base of loyal Doctor Who followers.”

Spectacular!! Around this time of year my girl and I would start throwing none-too-subtle hints to each other for Christmas, and... well... I've just sent the link to that picture of the Wii Remote to her. Subtle enough...? ;)
