ECTS 2003: Mario Kart Press Release

Nintendo just wanted to remind us about the game.

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! coming soon for NINTENDO GAMECUBE

Tune up the engines and get your red shells ready, Mario Kart: Double Dash!! is coming to Europe on 14th November 2003.

That's right! All your favourite Nintendo characters and more are back for some serious karting action. Mario, Luigi, Peach and Yoshi are all present and correct for this latest racing outing for NINTENDO GAMECUBE. At least 16 characters will be there to choose from including the likes of Baby Mario, Baby Luigi, Koopa Trooper and the hairy hero himself, Donkey Kong.

For the first time ever, players will be able to choose two characters to race on each vehicle simultaneously. One takes care of the driving, whilst the other is on weapons detail! Once selected, players can then put their favourite characters on any of the vehicles available. Mario Kart fans have never had so much to choose from!

Players must battle their way around the tracks and using the control stick and shoulder buttons, drivers can twist and turn their karts through all the courses on offer. But, a touch of the Z button will cause the characters to swap places and give access to a number of exciting new powerups available. Spiky shells, huge banana skins and super sized bombs can all be picked up and thrown at rival drivers. This time, nobody is safe!

Nintendo's finest landscape designers have created a number of challenging new tracks, each with their own secrets and shortcuts. Hair-raising hazards and fiendish twists have all been thrown in with wild abandon to make each individual track all the more exciting.

And this time, the fun isn't limited to four players. Multiple NINTENDO GAMECUBEs, Nintendo Broadband Adaptors and TVs can be used to experience eight-player Mario Kart: Double Dash!! It is multiplayer gaming at its finest! Just don't expect to make new friends when you thrash the opposition!

Mario Kart: Double Dash!! will be released in Europe on 14th November 2003 at the estimated retail price of around 60 euros.
