Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition coming to Switch

Square-Enix has just announced that Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles Remastered Edition will be coming to the Nintendo Switch and PS4 in 2019.

This is significant news because this will be the first time that the title has been released again since the original release of Final Fantasy: Crystal Chronicles on the GameCube in 2004.

A sunstantial investment in hardware would have been required back in the day in order to play this title in multiplayer mode, owing to you needing to have access to a Nintendo GameCube, a copy of the game, four GameBoy Advance systems AND four link cables to connect the systems to the GameCube via the much-touted link-up feature which was seldom utilised to full effect.

Despite this, the game itself is very good and I can remember having fond memories of playing the game in single-player back in the day; so to finally have the chance to play it via multiplayer (presumably with online support in addition to local multiplayer) is an exciting prospect indeed.

Are you excited to see more Final Fantasy titles coming to the Switch? Did you get to play the game in multiplayer mode on the GameCube back in the day? Will you be playing locally or online when the game releases?
