The 30th annual Golden Joystick Awards are nearing, meaning it's that time to trawl through over a dozen categories and vote for your favourite games of the last year.

As usual, Nintendo is fairly well-represented in the shortlists, picking up nominations for Xenoblade Chronicles in the Best RPG category, The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword in Best Action/Adventure, while a wealth of 3DS titles are acknowledged in the Best Handheld category.

Wii U is also officially recognised, with One to Watch nominations for Pikmin 3 and Ubisoft's ZombiU.
