Sega announce Sonic 4 will be delayed until later in the year - and tease us with a new trailer!

Citing fan and press acclaim for the new episodic title, Sega has decided to extend the development time of Sonic the Hedgehog 4 Episode 1. The game will now see release "in the latter half of 2010", as the development team polishes and fine-tunes the title.

To sweeten the news Sega have released a brand new trailer for the game, showing it off in all its retro-looking glory:

Already announced for WiiWare, Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network, Sega will also now be bringing the title to the iTunes App Store for the iPhone and iPod Touch.
