News: 3D Video Content Coming Soon

Nintendo's 3D video service is coming out in the "near future".

On June 7th the Nintendo 3DS will receive a software update that will see SpotPass updated and the eShop launched. However, Nintendo's previously announced 3D video service won't be available just yet according to Official Nintendo Magazine.

Nintendo has confirmed that a free downloadable application will be released in the "near future" that will allow for a short-form 3D video service that you can connect to either using your own connection or a supported SpotPass connection.

Once the service is launched you will be able to view 3D movie trailers, comedy clips and music videos and hopefully more in the future. Sky, Eurosport and Aardman Animation Studio have all previously pledged support for 3D video content on the 3DS in the past.
