Just days after a mysterious European event was announced, Nintendo have confirmed that they are to hold a press event in the US on the same day - January 19th.

Kotaku reports that the North American event will be 3DS-centric, with hands-on previews available and NOA president Reggie Fils-Aime set to deliver a keynote speech. Launch details including date and price are hotly anticipated to be confirmed.

The Nintendo 3DS goes on sale in Japan on February 26th for 25,000 yen. A March release for western territories is expected.
