News: Capcom Decide Resi 5 Wii 'A Possibility'

Capcom announce a u-turn in thinking on a possible Resident Evil 5 release for the Wii! Plus new Darkside Chronicles info...

Matt Dahlgren, Capcom's product manager for all things Resident Evil, has just taken part in an online interview where he fielded questions from fans about Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles. He revealed that the upcoming title would focus in personally on characters much more than in previous titles in the series.

He hinted that the different choices people take (whether to follow the "dark side" or not) would be crucial to the game's story. It was all but confirmed that we will see the corruption of Resident Evil 4's Jack Krauser while on mission with Leon Kennedy in the South American section of the game.

Naturally, he was also asked the latest on a possible Wii port of Resident Evil 5 - his response:

"At Resident Evil 5's launch, it was announced that a Wii version was not technically possible. But after some of the work that developers Cavia have done, the producers of Resident Evil 5 in Japan now think it is possible. Some of the light effects in the South American stage are pretty incredible. Whether it is going to come, I don't know the answer to that question. But it has been said that now at least it is possible."

A glimmer of hope, perchance? We'll keep you updated. Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles launches November 17th in North America, and ten days later in Europe.
