News: Dragon Quest IX Could Hit The West... Soon

Non-Japanese folk can look to expect the blockbuster Dragon Quest IX one day. Just be prepared for a lengthy wait...

Speaking directly to a group of analysts, Square-Enix CEO Yoichi Wada discussed all things Dragon Quest IX - the DS RPG which released recently in Japan to inevitable chaos.

Most intriguing for us, Wada-san shared the company's plans for releasing the game to a worldwide audience. The executive admitted that other countries were being looked into at the moment, but the game would not release anywhere overseas any time before April 2010.

In other news, Wada reiterated that Square are looking to see Dragon Quest IX surpass five million units sold, making it the best-selling game in the series to date. He claimed the title is on track to achieve that feat, selling over three million units after less than a week on Japanese shelves.
