Looks like the earlier rumour was correct...

With the scale of the Epic Mickey 2 project becoming clear, it has been confirmed that Epic Mickey 2: Power of Illusion is being developed for Nintendo 3DS.

The title is a game separate to The Power of Two, which has been announced for Wii, Xbox 360, and PS3. Power of Illusion is being developed by Dreamrift, who previously created Monster Tale for Nintendo DS, and whose employees also worked on the critically-acclaimed Henry Hatsworth in the Puzzling Adventure.

The game was pertained to earlier in the week, in a report that stated the game would feature 2D elements.

Epic Mickey 2 is due out towards the end of 2012.
