News: HMV Offering One Direction's Miis

HMV is giving you the chance to collect One Direction's Miis if you are so inclined.

Nintendo continue their collaboration with the up-and-coming preposterously-young boyband One Direction by giving you the ability to download their Miis to your Nintendo 3DS by visiting a HMV store.

The band has already worked with Nintendo as part of the Pokémon Black & White advertising campaign, and even played some songs and signed autographs at the game's launch back in March. MCV report that they are now working together again to distribute their Miis to 3DS owners who visit HMV.

Starting August 22nd anyone who buys a 3DS from HMV will be given a postcode that contains the QR code of all the band members. However if you already have a 3DS and wish to download their Miis fret not as Liam's will be available on One Direction's Facebook and Twitter pages and the rest of the band will be available in store as of Friday August 26th. Speaking about the promotion HMV's Tim Ellis said:

"This is a really cute idea from Nintendo, which combined with the fact One Direction are becoming absolutely huge, makes me think we're onto a real winner here. This shows how you can engage more effectively with customers by adding value to a product just through being creative."

While this may not be up everyone's alley at least Nintendo is trying out new ideas. Hopefully they will continue to offer Mii characters of the celebrities who endorse their games in the future. After all, who wouldn't want Dame Helen Mirren's Mii? See the band discuss their love of Pokémon in the video below.
