News: Infinite Space Launching This Spring

Sega and Platinum Games bring us tactical space warfare early next year!

Here at N-E, we've always been a little burned that the third project to bloom from the Sega/Platinum Games collaboration has mainly seen the sideline whist its home-console siblings hog the limelight. In the spite of this, we still maintain that the DS-exclusive Infinte Space looks to have gigatons more depth than the ultra-violent MadWorld or the action-packed romp Bayonetta.

Now, publisher Sega has finally confirmed that Infinite Space will be seeing a release in North America and Europe this coming spring. The game released earlier this year in Japan to humble commerical success, but comparatively towering critical praise.

Infinite Space puts the RPG genre firmly in a stylish sci-fi skin. Fully customise your space fleet with over a hundred parts and a similarly varied crew. Once you've tweaked your pride to perfection, engage with a intuitive battle system that requires both speed and strategy.

Co-developers Platinum and Nude Maker promise a 70 hour main quest with a hundred characters and a deep story based on Arthur C. Clarke's Childhood's End. Players can also challenge their friends' fleets over local wireless multiplayer.

We'll be covering Infinite Space a lot closer to its release.

Thanks to Dante for the heads-up.
