News: Italian Job for the GameCube

Eidos announced its financiel status as well as a new title for the Cube!

EIDOS said yesterday that it had returned to profit after three years in the red.

Sales of its Hitman 2 and Timesplitters 2 have topped a million copies each, helping Eidos to turn a �2.2m loss in the six months to December 31, 2001, into bottom-line profits of �6.7m this time.

"Looking forward over the coming months, other releases include the titles Commandos III and Deus Ex II (PC) in addition to new console titles such as Backyard Wrestling (PS2, Xbox), The Italian Job (GameCube, PS2, Xbox), Soul Reaver 3 (PS2) and Spanx (PS2), the latter two coming from our own Crystal Dynamics studio", John van Kuffeler (Chairman of the Board, Eidos Entertainment) said.

"The Board is confident that current market expectations for this financial year will be met. Longer term, we believe that the Group's prospects for delivering sustainable growth in profits and for translating this into enhanced shareholder value remain good", Kuffeler also said.

Italian Job which was mentoined a new title for the next-gen consoles was released earlier for the PS1. Details on this new next-gen version have yet to be revealed.
