News: Iwata Promises a Mii Plaza Update

Got a lot of Miis and not sure what to do with them? Satoru Iwata promises an update to the Mii Plaza application is coming.

When the Nintendo 3DS launched earlier in the year many people found themselves strangely compelled by what some thought was just going to be a small game that you'd play once or twice. Mii Plaza, and the associated Puzzle Swap and StreetPass Quest games, turned out to be one of the most enjoyable aspects of the 3DS.

As gamers continued to enjoy getting StreetPass 'hits' when they walked near someone else with a 3DS they found the application quite enjoyable. Until you complete everything that is. However, Nintendo's president Satoru Iwata has promised an update is on the way to breathe new life into it.

Speaking to investors last week Mr. Iwata promised that before the year is out the application would be updated to provide new features that make use of all those Miis in your plaza. There is no word yet as to whether StreetPass Quest and Puzzle Swap would be updated, something Shigeru Miyamoto has already asked about, but Mr. Iwata did promise the update would ensure your Miis don't go to waste.
