Nintendo has once again batted-off suggestions of a new home console entry in the Star Fox franchise.

In an encounter with ONM, Yusuke Amano - the man responsible for leading development on Star Fox 64 3D - was asked about the prospect of a new Star Fox game on Wii U. Amano was clinical in his strike-back.

"You'll probably have to ask Miyamoto-san! But if we were to make a new one, it would probably have new exciting features that improve on what we've seen in Star Fox games before."

The response is almost a mirror of Miyamoto's words on the matter at the start of Wii's reign. Nintendo is seemingly aware that it would be interesting and exciting and super-awesome, but they just don't have anything to announce in the near future.
