News: Pool Paradise Coming Soon

Ignition Entertainment will launch Pool Paradise on the GameCube in March 2004, for all you pool fans out there.

Archer Maclean's Awesome Studios is working alongside Jimmy White to create the game, set in the South Pacific.

"Archer's snooker- and pool-related games have sold over two million copies since initially appearing on Amiga and Atari ST back in the early '90s, and with this being his final version of the genre, we're confident of success," said product manager at Ignition Entertainment, Peter Rollinson. "But this is far more than a simple update. Pool Paradise offers players more options, tables, and minigames than any title previously. Put simply, it's the definitive version of one of the greatest games in the world."

There are 30 players in the island league, and beating each will earn you money to spend on unlocking minigames and other island locations. 12 different eight- and nine-ball rules sets will be included in the game, although which ones are not known at present. Minigames such as cannon ball coconut shy, darts, and an arcade hut containing a Dropzone cabinet will be unlockable.
