News: RE: Darkside Chronicles Revealed

The lid is blown on Capcom's next big Resident Evil game - a sequel to Umbrealla Chronicles...

Looks like Famitsu has beaten the publishers once again. Earlier this week, we reported that a new Wii Resident Evil title was expected to be announced this Thursday, but the game has been spotted in the latest Famitsu instead.

The new Wii gane is titled Resident Evil: Darkside Chronicles and is a continuation of 2007's on-rails Umbrella Chronicles. Darkside will focus around the events surrounding Resident Evil 2, and players will take classic protagonists Leon S Kennedy and Claire Redfield on some run and gun action through the streets of Racoon City.

Capcom is outsorucing the project to developer Cavia, who will carry on with the on-rails gameplay mechanic of the original Umbrella Chronicles, while promising to make it 'feel like a new game'. The developer also pledges to make the game more accessible for everyone, without making it any easier for veteran players - who can take advantage of a dynamic difficulty setting.

The first scans of the game can be found on the forums, but stick with us in the meantime as more details of Darkside Chronicles are sure to trickle out.
