Not sure about whether to buy Splinter Cell? A handy demo should help you decide...

London, UK 3rd June 2003 Ubi Soft Entertainment, one of the world's leading video game publishers, is pleased to announce that in conjunction with Nintendo, it will produce NINTENDO GAMECUBE playable demo disks to mark the launch of Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell on the console in June 2003.

The demo will consist of an introductory trailer and one level from the Chinese Embassy 2 map in the game, where Sam Fisher must use his stealth abilities to the highest level. It will also include the unique Game Boy Advance connectivity features such as the radar, the wall mine and the sticky bomb.

"We're delighted to be Nintendo's chosen partner in bringing interactive game demos to the public," said Ubi Soft's UK Marketing Director John Parkes. "Playable demos have always been a powerful tool in videogame marketing, and we will take this opportunity to encourage gamers all across the UK to get their hands on Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell in stores and through various contests before launch."

"We're excited to give our customers the chance to try before they buy a NINTENDO GAMEUBE game, and Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell is the perfect title to showcase this new tool," said Dawn Paine, UK Marketing Controller at Nintendo.

Splinter Cell will be released on the 6th June in Europe.

Update:

NGC have confirmed that the demo is only available with their magazine. From their official website:

The demo is available only in copies of the July issue of NGC Magazine (Issue 82, fact fans) that are stocked in Woolworths. But if you miss out this month, don't worry, as we'll be repeating the promotion next month, but in issues stocked in branches of Morrisons.
