News: Super Monkey Ball Adventure Site Launched

Check out all the game details and screens available in the just-launched site for the monkey's adventure game...

AiAi and gang are back, and this time for platforming, adventuring fun as the series takes a sidestep from its roots. The game's new site, SuperMonkeyBallAdventure.com is chock-full of info on the title, including the fact there will be 60 quests, 50 all-new puzzles, and more than 50 characters in the game, 20 of which will be playable in Party mode.

With the five kingdoms of the monkey world troubled, the romance of a prince and princess from feuding nations is in jeopardy. AiAi must travel the lands, solving puzzles and helping where he can to restore happiness and defeat the evil Naysayers.

All ten new ball abilities are named - Wood (floatable but flammable), Sticky (to traverse anti-gravity style), Scalar (inflatable), Boxing (as in Monkey Fight), Hover, Invisible, Speedy and Tether (which allows you to grab objects).

Party games are confirmed to be the always popular Monkey Race, Monkey Target and Monkey Fight, along with new games Monkey Cannon, Monkey Bounce, and Monkey Tag. Cannon involves each player building a base for themselves, before their opponents attempt to knock it down. Bounce is all about bouncing around the game board trying to turn as many squares your colour as possible, and Tag will feature balloon collecting with a "perspective like no other".

There's also various downloads - screensavers, wallpapers, screenshots and videos, as well as details on what the PSP version will have different to the GameCube/PS2 incarnations of the title. The PSP version will contain an additional card-based party game - MonkeyTrumps, the ability to carry on your game from the PS2 version, an unlockable new character, and a special backstory which will reveal the truth of why the monkeys really do live in balls.

We're all big Monkey Ball fans here at R-E, so we're looking forward to this title's summer release with anticipation.
