While the 3DS is less than 24 hours old Nintendo has already issued a firmware update for the console. The update improves the functionality of several areas, namely SpotPass and network connectivity, as well as the overall performance but it also includes a 3D video to enjoy.

In order to update the system you need to open the 'System Settings' from the home screen. You must then select 'Other Settings' and click on 'System Update'. The console will then download and install the update providing you are connected to the internet at the time.
