Nintendo and Sony are unlikely to allow the release of the "Adults Only" rated title in the States.

With Rockstar's title already confirmed as banned in the UK and Ireland, it seems that the game's American release is now also in doubt. Despite being given an "Adults Only" rating across the pond, gaming blog Kotaku has contacted Nintendo and Sony on their policy of releasing such titles.

Both Nintendo and Sony have responded by re-affirming their current standing position that titles rated AO are not allowed to be released on their systems.

With exemption highly unlikely, Rockstar must now submit an appeal against the ratings, rework the title, or admit that their game is unlikely ever to see widespread release.
