News: Wario Land Shake Announced For Wii

Mario's garlic-munching nemesis has just appeared on a Japanese release list, with a few rumoured details, and possible Balance Board compatibility.

Directly from Nintendo Japan, a new release list shows that a brand new title is set to be released on July 24th in the land of the rising sun. Its name? Wario Land Shake.

There have been a lot of rumours recently regarding a possible new installment in the WarioWare franchise with Balance Board compatibility, and whilst the 'Shake' part of the title implies that we'll be using Wii Fit's pressure-sensitive board, it's interesting that Nintendo have opted for the lesser known platforming series Wario Land as opposed to WarioWare. Will we be literally butt-stomping our Balance Boards to attack with Wario's behind?

The game is also rumoured to feature toon-shaded characters and hand-drawn background, which looks pretty darn awesome in our minds.

The release list also detailed several more games to be released in July. Densetsu no Stafi, a second DS installment in the charming Japan-only platforming series, is penned down for a release on July 10th. Rhythm Tengoku Gold (DS) is set for a July 31st release, which sounds suspiciously like a DS re-release of the WarioWare team's GBA rhythm minigame title. Fire Emblem DS (recently given a tentative subtitle of 'New Shadow Dragons and the Blade of Light') is set for a August 7th release, whilst football RPG Inazuma Eleven will be out for the DS on August 22nd.

In addition, the Wii-exclusive horror title Fatal Frame IV has been given a release date July 31st in Japan, with a magazine scan showing off the first in-game shots of the title.

So much good news, and it can only get better with E3 right around the corner...
