Nikkei reports that Wii U production to stop in 2016

After several years, it seems that time is coming to an end on the Wii U.

According to a report from Nikkei, translated on Twitter by Dr. Serkan Toto, Nintendo looks set to stop production of Wii U this year and has already stopped producing some Wii U accessories, but doesn't specify which.  Nintendo is looking to deplete their inventory this year, although obviously units will remain in stores for some time.

Toto states that the report says production of the NX will begin this year, but does not necessarily mean it will be released this year.  However, it does confirm that the NX will be unveiled in 2016, with many expecting it to be unveiled during E3.
