Having been a surprise announcement at the last Nintendo Direct broadcast, today has seen the first trailer for Sonic Lost World.

Sonic Lost World for 3DS and Wii U is the first in a trilogy of Nintendo-exclusive Sonic games born as part of a worldwide partnership with Sega. That being said, it's not clear whether Nintendo has had any creative input in the development of any of the titles.

The second game is Mario & Sonic at the 2014 Winter Olympics, and the third is an as-of-yet-unannounced mystery title.

Without further ado, here's the debut trailer for Sonic Lost World (via IGN), complete with a wealth of lovable-looking secondary characters.
